*THE CURE TO PRAYING AMISS.*
_But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well (Matthew 6:33 NIV)._
Good evening dear friend.
In the fourth chapter of his letter, Apostle James explains why sometimes we ask God for things but don't get them. _He tells us that we ask and don't receive because we ask with wrong motives, that we may spend what we get on our pleasures (James 4:3)._ We see that when God promises to meet all our needs, it is not a license for us to ask for just anything. God does not promise to fund our selfish desires and covetous pleasures.
So, when we pray in the pursuit of God's purpose for our lives, it is important that we check where our prayer points are coming from because sometimes, we can ask for good things with bad motives. I believe the key to not praying amiss is to do as Jesus said and seek first the Kingdom of God. When the Kingdom of God is top priority in our hearts, we will not pray outside of God's Will. We are never disadvantaged when God is first in our lives. When our motives are well-aligned with God's Will, we will see that our needs will reflect our priorities and we can expect God to meet each and every one of them.
*Pray by faith with me thus:* "Lord, help me to set my priorities right in the place of prayer." Amen.
*Keypoint:* Seeking the Kingdom of God first will reflect in our prayer points.
