Cambridgeshire Police - Rural Crime Action Team (RCAT) - Incident and Investigation Update - Period: 12/02/2025 to 19/02/2025 Agricultural investigations / incidents - any offence involving the damage or loss to agriculture, its practices, and the rural working environment. - 35/11183/25 / Langwood Fen Drove, Chatteris. Person(s) have stolen £50,000 worth of straw over a large time period. - 35/11361/25 / Deeping St. James Road, Deeping Gate. Unknown person(s) have cut padlock into farm shed and had stolen a green Yamaha quad bike from within, displaying the index AY69EYX. - 35/11583/25 / Ramsey Road, Whittlesey. Unknown person(s) have driven across victims fields whilst believed to be coursing, lamping or poaching and have caused damage to crops. - 35/11425/25 / New Road, Great and Little Chishill. Unknown person(s) have gained access to a farmyard by cropping the locked and gained entry to workshop. Nothing has been noted as being stolen. - 35/11567/25 / Thorney Road, Newborough. Unknown person(s) have entered a farm outbuilding by cutting off a lock and have stolen a trailer, digger and tools. - 35/11857/25 / Fullers Hill, Little Gransden. Unknown person(s) have stolen a gas gun from a field which costs approx. £500. - 35/11109/25 / Sutton Road, Haddenham. Unknown person(s) have entered a farm barn and workshop by unknown means and have stolen a quad bike and tools. - 35/11233/25 / Newmarket Road, Fowlmere. Unknown person(s) have stolen a green Yamaha quad bike from a farm outbuilding. - 35/12197/25 / Needingworth Road, Bluntisham. Unknown person(s) have broken into a farm barn by unknown means and left without taking anything. - 35/10467/25 / Mile Drove, Glinton. Known persons have crashed a stolen vehicle into a field causing damage to crops. Enquires ongoing. - 35/11983/24 / Tilbrook Hall, Tilbrook. Unknown person(s) have cut a locked to a gate to access an equine yard / stables. The barn door has then been broken open. Nothing has been noted as being stolen. - 35/11690/25 / Longstanton Road, Over. 3 unknown males have entered farm, broke fencing and gates, and doors to a workshop and livestock shed. An alarm has activated, and the males have ran off empty handed. - 35/11906/25 / Love Lane, Whittlesey. Unknown person(s) have broken into a tack room and have cut the lock off of a shed and stolen a quadbike. Environmental investigations / incidents - any offence involving the harm to the rural environment. - CC-14022025-0517 / 21:22 / Grunty Fen Road, Witchford / Unknown person(s) have set fire to 6 square metres of household rubbish which had been fly tipped. Lurcher type dog actively hare coursing in a field. 2 males in a dark coloured Kia or Mazda watching on. - CC-13022025-0583 / 23:11 / Potton Road, Gamlingay. 5 to 6 males with dogs in a field actively poaching. No lamps seen. No vehicles seen. - CC-16022025-0238 / 14:15 / Station Road, Steeple Morden. A Subaru and a Hyundai seen driving across fields having just been actively hare coursing. Police attended but did not find vehicles nor persons. - CC-16022025-0240 / 14:20 / Black Bank Road, Littleport. A blue and a red vehicle seen on a farm track. 1 white dog seen running in field chasing a hare. 3 males seen standing beside vehicles filming. Police attended but did not find vehicles nor persons nor dogs. - CC-16022025-0256 / 14:42 / Baldock Road, Steeple Morden. A black Honda CRV driving across fields whilst a dog was seen hare coursing. Police attended but did not find vehicles nor persons nor dogs. Investigation raised for criminal damage to crops. - CC-16022025-0429 / 20:16 / Wennington Road, Abbots Ripton. Lampers seen on land without permission, with the possibility the suspect were on a quad bike. Police attended but did not find vehicles nor persons. - CC-17022025-0284 / 16:10 / March Road, Rings End. 4 males were seen to be with a greyhound dog which was actively chasing a hare. No vehicles seen. Police attended but did not find persons nor dogs. - CC-18022025-0309 / 15:54 / Station Road, Steeple Morden. A Toyota RAV4 was seen driving across fields. Vehicle and occupants believed to be involved in coursing / poaching, but no dogs seen. - CC-18022025-0326 / 16:22 / Fenside Road, Warboys. A silver 4x4 vehicle seen driving across crops. Vehicle and occupants believed to be involved in coursing / poaching, but no dogs seen. - CC-18022025-0458 / 20:27 / Washpit Lane, Harlton. A male and a female persons seen with catapults firing at pheasants and leaving dead ones behind. No vehicle seen. Police attended but did not find persons. - CC-19022025-0183 / 12:57 / Willow Hall Lane, Thorney. 2 males with 2 lurches actively coursing / poaching deer on land. No vehicles seen. Police attended but did not find persons nor dogs.
