𝗛𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝗿𝘂𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝘁𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗯𝗮 Hundreds of runners converged on the Drakenstein Correctional Centre outside Paarl the past Saturday to take part in the 13th annual 27 for Freedom Race. For the serious runners or walkers, there was the scenic 27km run or walk (symbolic of the number of years former President Nelson Mandela spent behind bars). For a more relaxed experience, participants had two options: the 10km run or walk, or the Freedom Route Walk or Run (5 km). It was a family fun day of sports, history and entertainment, as is evident in the accompanying photographs.
