*Perth Dropped: Qatar Airways Reduces Airbus A380 Network To Just 4 Routes*
Qatar Airways is set to reduce its Airbus A380 operations, removing Perth from its superjumbo network starting June 25, 2025. This change coincides with Virgin Australia's launch of daily Perth-Doha flights on the same date, operated by Boeing 777 aircraft supplied by Qatar Airways. As a result, Qatar Airways will replace its current A380 service on the Perth-Doha route with a Boeing 777, leading to a more than doubling of daily flights between the two cities.
Following this adjustment, Qatar Airways' Airbus A380 network will be limited to four routes: Sydney, London, Paris, and Bangkok. The airline has been gradually phasing out its A380 operations, focusing on more efficient aircraft to optimize its fleet and route network.
Travelers on the Perth-Doha route can expect increased flight frequency and flexibility due to the introduction of Virgin Australia's service. However, the shift from the A380 to the Boeing 777 means passengers will no longer experience the amenities unique to the superjumbo, such as the spacious business class cabin and the onboard lounge.
This strategic move reflects Qatar Airways' commitment to adapting its operations in response to market demands and partnerships, ensuring efficient and customer-focused service across its global network.
