We appreciate the accolades from Band Revanhu (Alick Macheso), who elevated one of Chiredzi's brilliant dancers to national prominence as a member of Zimbabwe's top sungura band. We would want to inform Elder Macheso that naming someone Muchangani is equivalent to degrading them to the level of an animal. Changani sounds really horrible; we are Tsonga people, and it should be known to the Zimbabwean government that the people who registered us as Changans had no idea about our past or our existence at large; they are those who rush to the front but have no knowledge of our history.
