Blessed feast day of Saint Josephine Bakhita ❤ A patron saint of Sudan and victims of human trafficking, Saint Josephine Bakhita was a Sudanese-born Italian Catholic nun who was kidnapped as a child and sold into slavery. Eventually, she was bought by an Italian consul and brought to Italy. There, she encountered the Catholic faith and was baptized. Saint Josephine chose to join the Canossian Daughters of Charity, a religious order of nuns. She dedicated her life to serving others and became known for her kindness, humility, and deep faith. With her feast day being celebrated every year on February 8th, here are some ways her feast day is observed and how she is honoured by different communities around the world! Saint Josephine Bakhita, we pray for hope, resilience and the triumph of the human spirit over suffering. Amen 🙏✨ Source : Santa Marta Group Catholic News Agency IHE Catholic Britannica Catholic Bishops' Conference of England and Wales Justice and Peace #savvysaturday #feastofsaintjosephinebakh
