Blessed feast day of Saint Gregory Narek! 😍🙏 Saint Gregory of Narek, also known as Grigor Narekatsi, was a significant figure in Armenian religious and literary history. He was an Armenian monk, mystical and lyrical poet, and theologian. His life was centered at Narek Monastery (Narekavank) in what was then the Kingdom of Vaspurakan (now in modern-day Turkey). He is most famous for his "Book of Lamentations" (also known as "Narek"), a highly influential work of mystical literature. In 2015, Pope Francis declared him a Doctor of the Church! With the amount of his achievements, he seems pretty out of our league right? Don't worry. Though it might seem that way, Saint Gregory is actually very relatable, even more than we think!
