Save yourself time and frustration! Once your new licence application or competency has been approved, you do not need to wait for your card to be printed. (Unfortunately this is not available for licence renewals) Arrange to have a temporary licence printed at your DFO. You can collect and carry / use your firearm with this printout. SAPS is no longer issuing competency cards. They are now issuing A4 printouts which are issued at station level.
