*DESCRIPTION OF THE MUNAFIQOON* Allah describes the munafiqoon in part of surah al-Baqarah [02] by saying: [وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَن يُعْجِبُكَ قَوْلُهُ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَيُشْهِدُ اللَّـهَ عَلَىٰ مَا فِي قَلْبِهِ وَهُوَ أَلَدُّ الْخِصَامِ * وَإِذَا تَوَلَّىٰ سَعَىٰ فِي الْأَرْضِ لِيُفْسِدَ فِيهَا وَيُهْلِكَ الْحَرْثَ وَالنَّسْلَ ۗ وَاللَّـهُ لَا يُحِبُّ الْفَسَادَ ] There are some people whose speech about the life of this world amazes you and he calls Allah as a witness to what is in his heart, yet he is the most quarrelsome of opponents * and when he turns away from you, he exerts himself throughout the land to corrupt what is in it and destroying the crops and animals. And Allah does not love corruption. [204-205] Sheikh 'Abd al-Rahman al-Sa'di comments on part of the second ayah by writing: ] And when this person whose speech amazes you turns away after having been with you, "he exerts himself throughout the land to corrupt what is in it" i.e. he exerts himself in acts of disobedience which serve to spoil and bring corrupttion throughout the land, "and destroying the crops and animals" as a result of that. So the crops, fruits and livestock become damaged and are less productive and decrease in their blessing as a result of those sinful actions. "And Allah does not love corruption". So if Allah does not love corruption then He hates the person who spreads corruption in the earth with the utmost hatred, even if such a person says good words with his tongue.
