*The Radisson RED Minneapolis*, a 90,010 square-foot, five-story hotel located in East Town, embodies a bold, modern design aimed at millennial-minded guests. The hotel features a sleek black exterior, with a signature frame element that mirrors a "black-box theatre" effect, inviting dynamic guest interactions. *Design and Innovation* ESG Architecture & Design aimed to create a building that serves as a brand identifier for Radisson RED. The exterior design, featuring 33,656 square feet of *ALUCOBOND® PLUS* in Focus Black, achieved a sleek, contemporary look that aligns with the brand’s bold interior design. *Collaboration with ALUCOBOND®* *ALUCOBOND® PLUS* was selected for its exceptional flatness, rigidity, and weather resistance. The material was fabricated and installed by Atomic Architectural Sheet Metal using a dry-joint rainscreen system, ensuring a seamless, matte finish without the risk of oil canning, crucial for the building’s high-quality appearance. *Outcome* The use of *ALUCOBOND® PLUS* allowed for precise alignment around windows and other architectural features, resulting in a uniform, sleek façade. The project's success lies in its ability to meet Carlson Rezidor’s high standards while contributing to the lively streetscape of the surrounding neighbourhood.
