*Control Your Anger* _By Archbishop Charles Agyinasare_ _Day 42 (11/02/2025)_ > *_Ecclesiastes 7:9 "Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools."_* The Bible teaches us not to be quick to get angry because man’s anger, according to the Apostle James, usually results in unrighteousness (James 1:19-20). Therefore, we must all heed Apostle Paul’s admonition; “In your anger do not sin. Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry.” This means that your anger can be controlled, and that is what God expects from His children. Here are three ways of controlling your anger: 1. *Don’t allow your anger to build up.* Psalms 37:8 (NLT) "Stop your anger! Turn from your rage! Do not envy others— it only leads to harm." There are moments when we are aware of anger building up in us, and we must, in such moments, stop the anger by deliberately removing ourselves from whatever circumstance is causing it. You must make every effort to stop it right there before it graduates into full-blown anger. 2. *Give a gentle answer.* Proverbs 15:1 (NIV) "A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger." If someone approaches you with queries of anger, the normal response is to reciprocate with anger. But this can be controlled. How? By stopping your anger and giving a gentle answer in response to any provocative confrontation in order to quench the other person’s anger. 3. *Put aside anger.* Ephesians 4:31 (CEB) "Put aside all bitterness, losing your temper, anger, shouting, and slander, along with every other evil." Another way of controlling your anger is by putting anger aside: that is training yourself not to react when fully angry. Refuse to speak or do anything until you calm down. When your anger is dissipated, you may return to address the issue with a clear mind and controlled spirit. _Precious one, control your anger by stopping it from building up, responding gently to provocative confrontations and completely refusing to respond when angry._ *Prayer:* _Heavenly Father, by the power of the Holy Spirit, I put my temper in check, in Jesus’ name. Amen._ *Cross References:* Ephesians 4:26 Proverbs 14:17 Romans 12:18, 21 _Join my WhatsApp and Facebook broadcast channels for more insights and life-changing information:_ *WhatsApp:* https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VaDR57i8F2p9KGQQdf1C *Facebook:* https://m.me/j/AbYGVDBGVG4mwk4K/
