*Do something with Your Hands* _By Archbishop Charles Agyinasare_ _Day 58 (27/02/2025)_ > *_2 Thessalonians 3:10 “For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.”_* Did you know God gives the birds their food, but He doesn't throw it into their nests? This statement tells us that even birds work hard to get their daily meals. Today's reading of Scripture admonishes us to do something with our hands or work if we want to earn a living. The first human God created was immediately employed. A working Christian is in the likeness of a working God, who created the universe and is still at work in our lives. Here are three reasons why we must work: 1. *Working is a wise use of your time.* Ephesians 5:15-17 warns us that, “Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore, do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.” It is wise to work than to sit slothfully. 2. *Working gives you the means to feed your family.* In the scripture above, Apostle Paul told the church of Thessalonica that, if any would not work, neither should he eat. The Bible also tells us in 1 Timothy 5:8, “But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.” Working is a key way to make ends meet for one’s family. 3. *Working is imitating Jesus Christ.* Apostle John, in John 4:34, tells us, “Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.” It was even said of Jesus in Mark 6:3 that, “Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon?”. If Jesus worked, then we must also work! _Precious one, as we commit to work, God will meet us at our point of need._ *Prayer:* _Heavenly Father, as I work diligently as unto You, let me lack nothing good, and bless the work of my hands, in Jesus’ name, Amen._ *Cross References:* Colossians 3:23-24 Psalm 128:2 Psalm 90:17 _Join my WhatsApp and Facebook broadcast channels for more insights and life-changing information:_ *WhatsApp:* https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VaDR57i8F2p9KGQQdf1C *Facebook:* https://m.me/j/AbYGVDBGVG4mwk4K/
