BENEFIT: Have you begun preparing for Ramaḍhān? Sha’bān serves as the training ground for Ramaḍhān—put in the effort now so you can start strong. Here are seven preparation tips: 1⃣. Sha’bān is the final opportunity to make up for any missed fasts from the previous Ramaḍhān. 2⃣. Increase your fasting in Sha’bān because: a. It is a Sunnah. b. Those accustomed to fasting will find Ramaḍhān easier. c. It is a neglected month, and worship during times of heedlessness is especially virtuous. d. Our deeds are presented to Allāh during this month. 3⃣. It is not part of the Sunnah to designate the 15th of Sha’bān for any additional acts of worship. 4⃣. It is not allowed to fast one or two days before Ramaḍhān in anticipation of its arrival. 5⃣. Fasting on the Day of Doubt (Yawm Ash-Shakk) is not permitted. This refers to the 30th of Sha’bān when the crescent moon is not sighted due to unclear skies. 6⃣. The Salaf would pay their Zakāh in Sha’bān so that the poor could concentrate on worship during Ramaḍhān. [Ibn Rajab in Laṭā'if Al-Ma’ārif & Ibn Ḥajar in Fatḥul Bāri (13/310)] This should not be misunderstood as a lack of generosity during Ramaḍhān. In fact, it is highly encouraged to give more voluntary charity during Ramaḍhān than in any other month. 7⃣. We should use this month to develop positive habits and abandon negative ones, while being careful not to delay today’s good deeds until tomorrow, as tomorrow is not guaranteed! #tarbiyah@masjidsahabah #فوائد_تربوية
