The basis of business conflict stems from these two major phenomenon that I call the “twin partnership cross”. The first is: 1. Every partner ignores what he gets and obsesses over what his partner gets from the business. 2. Every partner ignores the sacrifices of his partner and focuses more on his sacrifices. This twin partnership cross (“TPC”) is the source of all business conflict. Once you understand it, you have crossed the biggest hurdle with conflicts with your business partner. The implication of the TPC, if not checked, is that in times of prosperity, the partners fight over who gets the most. Also, in times of loss and misfortune each partner obsesses over their individual sacrifices as against that of other partners. - Nonso Okpala
