The Commission, in collaboration with the Dept. of Higher Education & Training and Higher Health, will embark on a stakeholder outreach following a sexual harassment report released by CGE in October 2024 with alarming findings of sexual harassment and abuse at higher education institutions. The report flagged several concerning matters, including “sex-for-accommodation” and “sex-for-marks”, as particularly troubling trends. Furthermore, between 2014 and 2024, the Commission engaged institutions of higher learning on their transformation efforts in these spaces. The stakeholder outreach aims to raise awareness and assist higher education institutions to implement measures to improve safety for all.
