It was formed when rocks falling from the slopes blocked the Haldizen Stream The lake is 1,000 meters long, 500 meters wide, and has an area of 500,000 hectares, with its deepest point reaching 15 meters. As a result of sediment cleaning carried out by the State Hydraulic Works (DSİ) in 2004, the lake area expanded by 67%.
