ZUSSA Games 2025 Participation Report: Marondera University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology MUAST participated in the 2025 Zimbabwe Universities Staff Sports Association (ZUSSA) games at Bindura University of Science Education from 20 – 21 February 2025. These games combined relationship-building among university staff with vital physical wellness initiatives through competitive sports. MUAST collected four medals overall, securing sixth position in the final standings. This achievement comprised one gold medal from the Women’s Volleyball team, one silver in Table Tennis, and bronze medals in both Netball and Pool competitions. While the medal count might suggest modest success, the university demonstrated remarkable progress across multiple disciplines compared to previous tournaments. In outdoor events, MUAST teams displayed varied performances. The soccer team reached the quarterfinals before elimination, finishing fourth overall, while the Netball team claimed bronze. Beyond competitive achievements, the games fulfilled their core objectives of fostering inter-university camaraderie and promoting staff wellness. Participants engaged in practical physical exercises while building professional networks across institutions. Though sixth in medal rankings, MUAST's performance indicates promising development trajectories across multiple sports disciplines, positioning the university as an institution to watch in future ZUSSA competitions.
