Sayed Ghulam Mashani, the head of the Amu River Bank Reinforcement Department, has stated that the project is expected to be completed within ten months and will help mitigate damage caused by flooding. Its cost is covered by the budget of the acting government and is estimated at 65 million Afghani. Meanwhile, officials has said that with the implementation of this project, it is expected that agricultural lands and homes in the area will be protected from such threats.
