*THE TWO TYPES OF CHRISTIAN SINNERS*
Not all sinners in the church are the same. Some are genuinely striving for holiness, while others indulge in sin without remorse. The difference is found in the heart’s posture toward sin.
1️⃣ The Struggling Believer (Maturing Christian)
These are believers who truly desire to walk with God but find themselves battling weaknesses. They may stumble, but they do not take pleasure in sin. Instead, they grieve over their failures and seek God’s help to overcome them. Proverbs 24:16 reminds us: "For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again..." This was the case of Peter, who denied Jesus out of fear but repented bitterly (Luke 22:61-62). His heart was right with God, and he was restored to lead the early church.
2️⃣ The Willful Sinner (Rebellious Christian)
These are people who not only sin but also enjoy leading others into sin. They twist the grace of God into a license for immorality (Jude 1:4). Even worse, when such individuals occupy positions of leadership—Pastors, Prophets, Bishops, etc.—they often use their influence for personal gain rather than for the Kingdom. Eli’s sons (Hophni and Phinehas) were priests, but they corrupted the temple with immorality and greed (1 Samuel 2:12-17). Many today are like them—church entrepreneurs (Churchtrepreneurs) who mix Christianity with occultic practices for fame and power.
🔥 A Call to Self-Examination
Paul admonishes us in 2 Corinthians 13:5, “Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith...” True believers hate sin and fight against it, but pretenders embrace sin and promote it. Are you battling your weaknesses or celebrating them? The answer determines whether you are growing in Christ or being deceived by darkness.
