The opposition is against this idea and wants him to leave on February 27, 2025, the anniversary of his inauguration.  However, the Supreme Court has ruled that his mandate expires on September 4. The UN and the Economic Community of West African States are deploying a mission to Guinea-Biasu to agree on the optimal calendar for preparing and holding the presidential elections.
