At Thursday’s plenary, the House moved swiftly on major security matters, constituting a Special Committee to investigate allegations of terrorism funding by USAID, while pressing authorities like the FRSC and Police to ensure only vehicles in the Vehicle Registration Database are allowed on the roads.
Further, the House took action on critical national issues such as the non-completion of the Oil and Gas Park Project in Cross River, with plans to launch an investigation. Also deliberated upon were new legislative proposals, including a bill to establish National Vocational Training Centres in every LGA and several others aimed at improving the social sector.
In addition, the House witnessed the cross carpeting of a prominent opposition member from the NNPP as a Jigawa Rep. officially joined the Majority Party, highlighting the dynamic shifts in political alliances.
