*House of Representatives Urges Reflection, Earnest Prayers as Muslims Commence Ramadan*
*Abuja, FCT | Saturday, March 1, 2025* – The House of Representatives extends warm greetings to Muslim faithful across Nigeria as they begin the sacred month of Ramadan - a period of fasting, prayer, and spiritual renewal.
Ramadan is a time for self-discipline, devotion, and acts of kindness, reinforcing the values of peace, unity, and compassion. The People’s House urges all Nigerians, particularly the Muslim Ummah, to reflect on the nation's progress and offer earnest prayers for peace, stability, and prosperity.
Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, PhD, GCON, in his message to Muslims, emphasized the importance of national unity and divine guidance for leaders at all levels. He called for prayers and support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and the 10th National Assembly, reaffirming the House’s commitment to delivering the dividends of democracy.
> “Let us pray for the peace and prosperity of our dear country. The skills and competencies of the leaders are not enough; let us pray for divine wisdom for us to be able to steer the country out of the current socio-economic turbulence. Together, we shall overcome our challenges.”
Speaker Abbas also encouraged Muslims to embrace the virtues that come with the Holy Month of Ramadan and prayed to Allah (SWT) for a successful completion of Ramadan and the acceptance of prayers and supplications during this sacred period.
The House of Representatives wishes the Muslim Ummah a blessed and fulfilling Ramadan and prays for Allah’s (SWT) continued guidance and blessings upon Nigeria.
Ramadan Kareem!
