Preparing for Ramadan: A Spiritual Journey
The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said:
"When the month of Ramadan begins, the gates of Paradise are opened, the gates of Hell are closed, and the devils are chained." (Bukhari & Muslim)
Ramadan is not just about fasting; it is a time for self-purification, increased worship, and strengthening our connection with Allah. Preparing for it spiritually and mentally ensures we make the most of this blessed month.
Here are three ways to prepare:
1. Purify Intentions – Renew your niyyah (intention) to seek Allah’s pleasure in all acts of worship.
2. Increase Worship – Start fasting voluntarily, pray extra nafl prayers, and recite more Quran.
3. Repent & Seek Forgiveness – Cleanse your heart by making sincere istighfar (seeking forgiveness) and mending relationships.
May Allah grant us the ability to make the most of Ramadan and emerge spiritually stronger. Ameen!
