Dow closed 0.43% lower, S&P finished just above the flat line and Nasdsq closed with a gain of 0.26%. USD index traded flat near 106.49 level, 10 year continued to slide down near 4.24% and cboe vix closed a bit lower near 19.10 level. Russia - Ukraine talks and US inventory count pushed crude futures to 2 month lows. WTI fell below 69, Brent below 73. Indian markets closed mixed on Tuesday ahead of the February series expiry. Sensex gained 148 points but Nifty closed just below the flat line. Banking and IT names continued to drag markets lower from intraday highs but on the flip side Autos and FMCG names tried to support indices. *February series expiry, some bargain hunting in individual names, may dominate trade set up on Dalal Street.
