President Cyril Ramaphosa delivered the first State of the Nation Address (SONA), under the Government of National Unity (GNU) and the 7th administration. SONA took place before a joint sitting of the two houses of Parliament.
His kicked off his address by painting a picture of South Africa, where it comes from and where it currently is.
"As a person, as a nation we will not be bullied," President Ramaphosa warned.
Amongst some of the striking issues he delved deep into, include:
● The G20 (advancing efforts towards growth and sustainable development)
● Empowerment of women and persons with disability.
● Quality of health care for all.
● Increasing the production of artisans through TVET colleges.
● Working to strengthen the AU to support the achievement of peace, development and economical integration in Africa.
● How instrumental South Africa has been in restoring stability in countries such as; Côte d'lvoire, Burundi, South Sudan, Lesotho and more recently as part of the SADC peace keeping in Mozambique.
