The Government of Lesotho has acknowledged that inclusive economic growth and job creation remain significant challenges despite past achievements. During the tabling of the 2025/26 fiscal year budget, Minister of Finance and Development Planning Dr. Retsilisitsoe Matlanyane introduced a series of reforms and policies aimed at stimulating growth. Key measures include promoting industrial development in manufacturing and agro-processing to reduce import dependency, boosting investments in agriculture, energy, technology, and tourism through the creation of special economic zones, and supporting digital transformation to enhance competitiveness.
