#ad Today we were off to Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire. Somehow, despite all the years that we have had annual passes (we had self funded annual passes for about 5 years before we had any gifted tickets from Blenheim) Hubby hadn't been inside the palace before except at Christmas. He was in awe, it really is so stunning. We got to hear snippets of the free guided tour and the room guides are incredibly knowledgeable too. The original plan was to go back to the adventure playground but it just wouldn't stop raining! I think we picked the worst day of the holidays for our visit! However, that's actually one of the best things about Blenheim; a palace and gardens tickets can be converted for free into an annual pass. So if one day you go and the weather is rubbish, it doesn't matter. Just go another day! And this year they've got new tours opening; rooftop views, below stairs and family treasures (additional charges may apply). For the kids there's loads going on in the walled garden over half term including the chance to meet some sheep and craft activities. They also have a new passport to play. Children will receive a free passport booklet that guides them through imaginative adventures and challenges, collecting stamps along the way. Each visit to Adventure Play will unveil new activities designed to ignite creativity and spark imagination. Plus, families who collect a stamp for each adventure by visiting five times will be awarded a badge!
