VACANCY FOR A CHEF
An exciting opportunity exists at Kwendalo, a premier holistic Wellness Farm, dedicated to promoting overall well-being through integrative health practices, & offering a unique farm-to-table experience from our biodynamic produce.

You will play a crucial role in creating an exceptional experience for guests.
Position Overview:
We seek a motivated, passionate & energetic CHEF, to join & lead a small, dynamic team.
The ideal candidate will have had exposure/an understanding of creating balanced, nutritious & delicious meals that cater to various dietary preferences, also including vegan, gluten-free & other health-focused diets, that align with our wellness philosophy.
This includes events & functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Strong communication & interpersonal skills to work effectively with various team members
- Menu development & creative skills in gastronomy
- Food preparation & beautiful presentation
- Extensive knowledge of food costing
- Portion control
- Daily Cash Ups of Restaurant
- Ordering & Receiving
- Stock takes / control
- Time schedules & regulating hours
- Maximizing preparation & output in a small kitchen
- Ability to work well under pressure & meet deadlines
- Must also be able to generate opportunities during quiet periods
- Inventory management
- Innovative ideas
- Consistent hygiene, health & safety compliance & regulations
- Client interaction
- Manage restaurant & waitron staff
- Team collaboration & working with a small team
- Waste management
- Staff development, motivation & training
- Flexibility to work shifts, evenings, weekends & holidays as required
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a chef
- Culinary degree or relevant certification preferred
- Strong administrative & organizational skills
- Knowledge of various culinary techniques & international cuisines
- Exposure to nutrition, wellness & detox techniues an added bonus
- Creativity in gastronomy & diverse culinary experiences
- Experience of various dietary preferences, restrictions, allergies & religious food practices
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a growing environment & manage multiple tasks.
Market related salary based on experience.
