A Shallow Understanding of Salafiyyah Shaykh Ṣalāḥ Kantūsh—ḥafiẓahullāh—writes: ❝Know—may Allāh keep your heart happy in both the worlds—that one of the greatest causes of commotion and bewilderment among the youth who are recent to Salafiyyah is that they have not studied the books of the Pious Predecessors in a foundational manner. As a result, some of them have developed a distorted understanding of the Salafī methodology, leading them to assume that Salafiyyah is merely the personal approach of so and so; certain individuals. However, in reality, their condition is that they are fanatics towards personalities. Had they studied the methodology of the Salaf through foundational grounding in knowledge—after Allāh’s permission—it would have aided them to achieve the correct understanding.
