✅In an effort to enhance the Zimbabwe Gold (ZiG) and promote financial inclusion, the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) now requires all traders, including those in the informal sector, to have Point of Sale (POS) machines. This policy aims to create a level playing field, enhance tax compliance, and bolster the national currency.
✅For years, informal businesses have evaded taxes, creating an unfair advantage over formal businesses. By mandating POS machines, the RBZ promotes fairness, financial transparency, and the use of ZiG in daily transactions.
✅The RBZ's forward-thinking approach helps Zimbabwe transition to a more regulated economy, reducing reliance on foreign currencies. This policy addresses the need for competitiveness and transparency in the formal sector, ensuring that all businesses contribute to national development.
👍🏾this initiative represents a bold step towards an inclusive, transparent, and self-sustaining economy, reinforcing confidence in the national currency.
