Former LPM member Henny Seibeb who left the party last year, and who later re-joined the Swapo party, was recently appointed as a member of the TVET taskforce established by High Education Minister Itah Kandjii-Murangi. The task force aims to oversee the transformation of state-owned Vocational Training Centres into comprehensive TVET institutions. Seibeb said Namibia must adapt to the fast-changing global landscape by transforming state-owned TVET centres like Khorixas into specialised colleges addressing regional needs. The roadmap, Seibeb said, is diploma-level training (NQA Levels 4-6), B.Tech, M.Tech & PhD programs, Tech-driven learning for competitive graduates, Curriculum aligned with emerging industries (oil, gas, green hydrogen), Regional collaboration to advance the TVET sector and Expanded access to underserved areas.
