A member of the public approached CPS Security tactical unit in Alberton, Gauteng, whilst on patrol, reporting that individuals posing as police officers had stolen their cellphone. The victim provided a description of the getaway vehicle, which was circulated. Suspects tracked down the vehicle and, with the assistance of SAPS and EMPD, stopped and searched the vehicle. The vehicle had fradulent license plates and false SAPS identification. Both suspects were arrested and detained at Alberton SAPS. It was later established that the same two suspect robbed a second person in the area of R7000 cash and his cellphone also. Two seperate cases were opened against the two suspects. Via CPS Security.
