23 February 2025 ROAD CLOSURE UPDATE: R510 THABAZIMBI TO NORTHAM AND R511 TO BRITS OPENED TO R516 VIA BELA-BELA Dear motorists and road users, We are pleased to inform you that the R510 road between Thabazimbi and Northam is now partially open. One lane is available for use, allowing for safe travel next to the Crocodile River. We thank you for your patience during the stressful situation caused by rising water levels in the area. While this partial reopening provides some relief, we advise all travelers to remain cautious and vigilant, especially when navigating through affected areas. Please adhere to any traffic signs and remain alert for changing conditions. We would also like to remind residents living along the river to continue taking necessary precautions as the situation remains dynamic. Furthermore, R511 to Brits is opened until at Koedoeskop. For those travelling to Brits, Tshwane and Johannesburg side, motorists and road users are are humbly advised to travel via R516 to Bela-Bela in order to reach your destinations.
