Ghana's pay increments since 2011 have been a bit of a rollercoaster. Let's break it down:
- *2011*: The highest increment of 20% was recorded
- *2012*: The increment decreased to 18%
- *2013*: It further decreased to 10%
- *2014*: There was no increment, but a 10% cost of living allowance (COLA) was offered
- *2015*: A 15% increment was agreed upon
- *2016*: The increment was 10%
- *2017*: It increased to 12.5%
- *2018*: The increment was 11%
- *2019 and 2020*: Both years saw a 10% increment.
- *2021*: The increment dropped to 4%
- *2022*: It slightly increased to 7%, with an additional 15% COLA
- *2023*: A 30% base pay increment was approved, effective January 2023
- 2024: 23% based pay increment was approved, effective January 2023 to June then +2% (25%) from July to December.
