*● Mansa Musa* I’m used to listening to your daily updates before I hit the sack each day. We would share goodnight messages with daily reassurances before even sharing the link. Even distance couldn't separate us; I thought nothing could— not even your male friends who kept telling you I wasn’t the best for you. I’m still surprised that we haven’t spoken since July. I thought we promised each other that even if our shadows left us in the darkness, we would never leave each other. So why have we allowed our egos to lead us to find sufficiency within ourselves? I wish we could spend time together like we used to. I would love to see you laugh at my annoying jokes again. I’d choose every plate of jollof over waakye, but not your waakye, that’s the only food that reminded me of Sofomaame’s kitchen. I’ve heard that you found a new lover who treats you better. I just hope he serves you a hot breakfast so you’ll come back to me😂😂😂. I miss you.
