Ganesh Karki, president of the Independent Power Producers’ Association of Nepal (IPPAN), has said that hydropower producers are being held back. Speaking at an interaction program organized by Federation of Nepali Journalists, he highlighted the uncertainty surrounding the sector, which has an investment of Rs. 1,500 billion. The government has set a target of generating 28,500 megawatts of electricity and exporting 15,500 megawatts.
