"Who Knows? – The Illusion of Relationships" Every relationship with another human being is destined to end—whether by time, distance, or death. This is not a tragedy; it is the very nature of existence. Yet, we seek. We crave connection, love, validation, and belonging. But what if the purpose of relationships is not to seek, but to realize? Relationship itself is a step toward non-seeking. When we are unaware, we attach ourselves to emotions, believing them to be permanent. Butterflies in the stomach feel exhilarating, but they carry the seed of future pain. The same person who brings joy today may cause suffering tomorrow. If we are not balanced within, external events will control us. Keeping Inner Balance in Relationships The only way to avoid frustration in relationships is to first become aware of yourself. You are not the Karta (the doer); you are simply performing Karma without attachment. This awareness allows you to remain steady even when external chaos unfolds. Whenever emotions rise—whether joy or despair—stop and ask: Why am I feeling this? Why is this person so important to me? Why do situations impact me so deeply? Why does everything—good or bad—affect me? This questioning is the gateway to freedom. The more you ask, the more you realize: Existence is far greater than these fleeting emotions. Love, attachment, heartbreak—these are temporary waves in the vast ocean of being. They rise, they fall. But beneath it all, the ocean remains still. Who knows? Maybe one day, you will stop seeking—and simply be.
