China has no issue with Opening of Wakhan Corridore The Chinese Ambassador to Kabul, Zhao Xing, affirmed that China supports the opening of the Wakhan Corridor to establish a connection between Afghanistan and China. Xing emphasized that the corridor's opening would facilitate progress across various sectors. These statements were made by Mr. Xing during a meeting with Mullah Abdul Wasi, the Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister. Furthermore, Xing mentioned that China is actively involved in providing electricity to Bamiyan, constructing hospitals in Kandahar, and participating in the Amu Darya oil project in Takhar. The esteemed Chinese diplomat highlighted that post-2021, the relationship between China and Afghanistan has significantly strengthened, leading to an increase in both the flow of people and trade between the two nations. Conversely, Mullah Abdul Wasi expressed the view that China should earnestly acknowledge and engage with the Islamic Emirate.
