Kandahar's Marble Extraction Contract Signed The Ministry of Mines and Petroleum has disclosed that it has finalized a $6.2 million agreement with a Turkish firm for the extraction of marble from the Dara Noor area in Kandahar's Shah Wali Kot district.  As per the ministry's statement on its official website, the mining site spans 3 square kilometers, and the contract has been formalized with a Turkish entity named Emeyoglu for a duration of 30 years.  During a ceremony commemorating this occasion, the Minister of Mines and Petroleum remarked that the contract's execution will generate employment opportunities for numerous youth within the country and facilitate various social amenities for the local populace, including medical and educational services.  Simultaneously, the deputy director of Emeyoglu company affirmed that following the extraction and processing of this marble reserve, they intend to showcase Afghan marble on a global scale, a development that would benefit both nations' citizens and administrations.  It is noteworthy that over the past three years, transparency has been promoted in the mining sector, resulting in numerous domestic and international enterprises investing in mining ventures.
