Stranded Afghanistan-bound vehicles are allowed to cross into Uzbekistan Officials in Balkh province have declared that a delegation of nine members from the province has journeyed to the country to address issues and engaged in discussions with Uzbek authorities. Regional officials in Balkh mentioned that the meeting focused on challenges such as the obstruction of Afghan transit vehicles, hindering the sale of Afghan dried fruits in the shared market, and impeding emergency patients from reaching the hospital. As per the statement, following these deliberations, the aforementioned issues were resolved, and a decision was made to permit the passage of 1,500 stranded Afghan transit vehicles through Uzbekistan. Afghan traders are now able to vend their dried fruits in the joint market, and an agreement was reached to allow emergency patients to access the joint market hospital by presenting their identification cards.
