Believes in Realities in engagement with Afghanistan
The Deputy Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and Special Representative for Afghanistan, Tariq Bakht, engaged in discussions with Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi regarding security, education, counter-narcotics, economy, humanitarian and development aid cooperation, and enhancing the representation of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan within the organization.
During this interaction, Tariq Bakht emphasized his aversion to a selective approach in engaging with Afghanistan and professed a commitment to seeking and presenting the truth objectively.
He articulated his purpose of visiting Afghanistan to ascertain the facts firsthand and asserted his intention to make independent decisions based on these facts.
In contrast, the Foreign Minister highlighted the positive and distinct realities on the ground, diverging from portrayals in certain foreign media outlets.
Mr. Muttaqi expressed optimism that rather than relying on media depictions, a direct observation of the ground realities would be more enlightening, suggesting that altering the prevailing global perception, shaped by years of conflict, necessitates firsthand exposure to solutions.
