Life depends on water, its management is urgently needed The Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund, conveyed in his address to the World Water Conference that water stands as the foundation of life and constitutes a crucial element for the sustenance and progression of human civilization. Within his message, the Prime Minister highlighted how global climate shifts, inadequate rainfall, catastrophic floods, and persistent droughts have led to significant challenges within the water domain. Emphasizing the repercussions of unregulated groundwater extraction in Afghanistan, the Prime Minister elucidated how this practice not only depletes water reservoirs but also triggers adverse environmental and social outcomes, posing a grave menace to fulfilling the water requisites of forthcoming generations. Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund underscored the urgency for enhanced water resource management, affirming the Islamic Emirate's dedication to implementing specific strategies aimed at judicious groundwater utilization and mitigating the impacts of climate variations.
