Flooding in Helmand Claims 5 Lives, Several Rescued
The Information and Culture Department of Helmand province has reported that heavy rainfall and floods in the Sangin, Musa Qala, and Babaji districts have resulted in the tragic deaths of 5 individuals, including women and children, with 6 others sustaining injuries.
Furthermore, the department noted that numerous stranded citizens were rescued by the Mujahideen of the 215th Azm Corps, particularly in the region between the Shorab and Greshk districts along the Kabul-Kandahar highway, where their vehicles had become trapped in floodwaters.
Reports from international sources indicate that heavy rainfall has led to 29 casualties and multiple injuries in Kandahar and Farah, in addition to causing significant financial damages.
It is important to highlight that persistent rainfall across the country has led to the closure of highways in several provinces and triggered flooding in various regions.
