This morning, we are at Wits University for an oversight visit we are meeting with university management, the SRC, and workers’ unions to directly engage on urgent student funding and accommodation challenges. We recognize the frustrations faced by students, particularly around NSFAS defunding, outstanding appeals, private accommodation issues, and student debt. This visit is about finding immediate solutions to these problems. To ensure on-the-spot assistance, we have set up an NSFAS support table here today at Sturrock Park where all the registration processes are taking place and affected students can receive real-time interventions on their cases. #2025academicyear #dhet
