*Childhood*
Imagine a galaxy shaped like a butterfly, or a cloud made of candies;
What if the sun turned green, or what if a tree grew inside me?
The wild dreams I once had, the stupid innocent fantasies;
The mischief once caused, by the delightful young body.
Why do stars shine so bright, why do we even need the light?
How do birds fly, how can the ocean never be dry?
Questions entertain the young and curious mind,
Restless, untained and so pure and kind
Scraped knees and dirty nose, the carefree skies ,
A stick became a sword, blanket turned into cape,
Monsters hid under the bed and we couldn't look,
Fairies were real just like in the books
The child within sings and hymns the stories untold,
The sweet innocent memories I'll hold
For childhood isn't just a time which has passed,
Its a treasure meant to forever last
