*Female genital mutilation must stop.* At least *200 million women and girls* have undergone female genital mutilation (FGM/C) worldwide. There are roughly 600,000 survivors living in Europe and around *190,000 are at risk in 17 EU countries.* Today is the International day of zero tolerance for FGM/C. It serves as a reminder that everyone should have the right to make choices about their own body, free from harm. ⚖️ Both FGM/C and restricted access to abortion are *forms of violence against women and girls.* Both come from the same belief that women and girls shouldn’t have control over their own bodies.
