🚔🚨Mbhashe Local Municipality Joint Operation Success
Today, Mbhashe Local Municipality Law Enforcement in collaboration with the South African Police Service (SAPS) ,Traffic, Immigration, Amathole District Municipality (ADM) Environmental Health, and the Department of Employment and Labour (DEL) conducted a comprehensive operation to ensure adherence to municipal by-laws, compliance, and safety across the town.
During the vehicle checkpoint roadblock on the N2 between Dutywa and Butterworth, 138 vehicles were stopped 53 searched, and 6 traffic fines were issued. Shops were also inspected and fined for violations, including the absence of operating licenses and employing illegal immigrants. Two arrests were made for immigration offences and possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition rounds.
Illegal, expired, and rotten goods, such as cereals, chips, spices, and flour etc. were confiscated and will be disposed of.
The Mbhashe Traffic & Law Enforcement and the SAPS will continue working together to maintain road safety and enforce compliance with transportation regulations.
