**Report on National Youth Day Celebrations in Bulawayo**
From Tuesday, the 17th to Saturday, the 22nd of February, members of Students for Economic Development had the opportunity to travel to the City of Kings and Queens to attend and participate in the National Youth Day celebrations. The President of Zimbabwe, His Excellency Cde E.D Mnangagwa, was the guest of honor at the event. This report details our experience, the significance of the celebrations, and invites fellow students to join the Students for Economic Development Club.
Our journey began on Tuesday afternoon when a group of us from the University of Zimbabwe gathered at the campus. Excitement filled the air as we boarded the bus, ready for the experience ahead. The trip to Bulawayo was filled with camaraderie and anticipation, along with exciting activities that helped pass the time during our ten-hour journey. We also had discussions about the importance of youth empowerment and economic development in Zimbabwe.
The National Youth Day celebrations were a significant event, and we felt honored to be a part of it. The theme of the celebrations was "Empower Youth, Secure the Future," which resonated with our club's mission . The event brought together thousands of youths from across the country, providing a platform for us to network, share ideas, and learn from each other. His Excellency, the president of the Republic of Zimbabwe Cde E.D Mnangagwa launched the Zimbabwe Digital Skills Training program which is meant to benefit all youths of Zimbabwe.
Overall, our experience at the National Youth Day celebrations was enriching and inspiring. We encourage fellow students to join the Students for Economic Development Club and be part of our efforts to promote economic development and empowerment among young people in Zimbabwe.
