If you don’t not have an account, you will need to register first. • Click on ‘My Profile’ and click on ‘Portfolio Management on the left side of the page. • Inside the ‘Portfolio Management’, add in a company portfolio and select ‘Organisation when capturing the portfolio details, then click add. 2. *Access the Organisation Profile* • Once logged in, navigate to the "Organisations" tab at the top of the page. • Select either "Register New Organisation" or "Manage Tax Types" if you have already registered your business profile. • "Register New Organisation": If you are not the registered representative, you will need to complete the "Entity Details." Select the entity type as "Company," then add the registered business name, registration number, and the company’s tax reference number. Click "Add". Click on "System Default" to add the company to a user group or a group where you have user rights. 3. *Provide Business Details* You will need the following information about your business: • Business Name: The registered name of your business. • Tax Reference Number: The Income Tax reference number of your business. • Registration Number: Your CIPC (Companies and Intellectual Property Commission) registration number, if applicable. • VAT or PAYE Reference Numbers (if applicable): Include these if your business is VAT-registered or employs staff. 4. *Link Tax Types* Under the organisation profile, link the relevant tax types that apply to your business: • Income Tax (ITR14) • VAT (Value-Added Tax) • PAYE (Pay As You Earn) • Provisional Tax Select the tax types and enter the respective reference numbers. 5. *Upload Supporting Documents* (if applicable till no.7) SARS may require supporting documents to verify your authority to act on behalf of the business. Common documents include: • A letter of authority or resolution authorising you to act on behalf of the business. • A copy of the director’s/owner’s ID. • Proof of business registration (CIPC certificate). You can upload these documents via the "Uploads" section in eFiling. 6. *Submit the Request* After entering the required information and uploading documents, submit the request. Click activate to proceed with the activation. • A message will be displayed to indicate that the initial activation of the service has been successful, and all functionalities will be listed under the tax compliance status. • To finalise the activation process you will be prompted to complete the registration verification first. Once the registration verification is completed, a successfully activated status will be display. • Click continue after which the entity reference number confirmation process page will be displayed. To verify the entity details and tax reference numbers, select yes on the declaration and click submit. • The confirmation page will be displayed, click continue - ‘My Compliance Profile’ will appear. Under ‘My Compliance Profile’ you can check if any non-compliance may impact your overall tax compliance status. • You can then select the tax compliance status request on the ‘Tax Compliance Status’ page or ‘Tax Compliance Status’ menu 3. *Request a Tax Compliance Status* • Select "Request Tax Compliance Status". • You will be prompted to choose the purpose of the TCS request. Options include: o Good Standing (to confirm your business complies with tax obligations). o Approval International Transfer • Select the appropriate purpose for your certificate. 4. *Complete the Application* • Fill in the required fields, including your business details and any additional information requested. • SARS will check if your business is tax compliant (e.g., all returns are filed, payments are up to date, and there are no outstanding penalties or interest). 5. *Submit the Request* • After completing the application, submit it through eFiling. • SARS will process the request, which usually takes a few minutes to a few hours if your business is fully compliant. • Correspondence will be sent to your contact details (email and SMS). 6. *Receive Your TCS & TCC* • If your request is approved: o You will receive a TCS PIN via your phone number. o You can also download a Tax Clearance Certificate (TCC) in PDF format under the "Tax Compliance Status" section. • If your request is denied, SARS will provide reasons, and you will need to resolve any compliance issues before reapplying.
