Hon. Sam Nartey George, Minister for Communications, Digital Technology and Innovation, addressed Parliament yesterday, justifying government's plan to conduct a SIM re-registration exercise. According to him, the move aims to combat fraud by creating a centralized equipment identity register, that will allow the banning of mobile devices alongside SIM cards used in fraudulent activities.
